Not the official site Madu River Boats is an independent travel guide. We do not own boats, sell tickets or operate tours. Booking links go to GetYourGuide, an authorised reseller, and we earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Prices, times and rules are checked by hand and can change — always confirm on the operator’s own channels before you travel. Updated August 2026

This policy explains what happens to data when you use maduriver.boats. It is short because the site does very little.

What we do not do

  • We have no user accounts, logins or profiles.
  • We set no cookies of our own.
  • We run no advertising network and no retargeting.
  • We do not sell, rent or share personal data.
  • We do not ask you for personal data anywhere on this site.

Server logs

Our hosting provider records standard technical information for every request: IP address, timestamp, requested URL, referring page, user agent and response status. This is normal web server operation and is used to keep the site running, diagnose faults and understand in aggregate which pages are read.

Logs are not linked to any identity by us and are retained only as long as our host retains them.

Third-party embeds: GetYourGuide

Some pages embed booking widgets from GetYourGuide — an availability calendar in the hero section and an activity list further down.

When such a page loads, your browser requests content directly from GetYourGuide’s servers. That request necessarily discloses your IP address, and GetYourGuide may set its own cookies and process data under its own privacy policy, which we neither control nor have access to.

If you would rather not load these widgets, block third-party content for this site in your browser or extension. The editorial content works without them.

Booking links on this site carry our partner identifier and a campaign tag, and are routed through a redirect on our own domain before reaching GetYourGuide. That redirect exists to keep the links tidy and to mark them clearly as commercial; it does not record who you are.

The purpose of the identifier is attribution: if you book, the platform can tell that the referral came from us and pay commission. It does not tell us your name, your booking details or what you paid.

Fonts and assets

Fonts, images, stylesheets and scripts are served from our own domain. We do not load Google Fonts or any other font CDN, so no font request leaves our server.

Email

If you write to contact@maduriver.boats, we keep the message so we can reply and, where relevant, act on a correction. We do not add you to any mailing list — we do not have one.

Children

This site is aimed at adults planning travel. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or erase personal data we hold about you, or to object to its processing. Given how little we hold, this will usually amount to email correspondence.

For anything that happened inside a GetYourGuide widget or after you followed a booking link, please contact GetYourGuide — that data is theirs and we cannot access it.
