This is not the official website. Not the official site What that means

Terms of Use

Short, plain terms for a site that publishes information and links to a booking platform. Nothing here is bought or sold on maduriver.boats.

  • Ramsar wetland since 2003
  • Written on the south-west coast
  • Prices re-checked monthly

Not the official site Madu River Boats is an independent travel guide. We do not own boats, sell tickets or operate tours. Booking links go to GetYourGuide, an authorised reseller, and we earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Prices, times and rules are checked by hand and can change — always confirm on the operator’s own channels before you travel. Updated August 2026

These terms apply to your use of maduriver.boats. By using the site you accept them. If you do not, please stop using it.

1. What we provide

We publish editorial information about boat safaris on the Madu Ganga estuary in Sri Lanka, and links to third-party platforms where those tours can be booked. That is the entire service.

We do not sell tours, take payments, hold booking data or act as an agent for any operator.

2. Accuracy and no warranty

We take reasonable care to make the site accurate and to date the information that changes. The site is nonetheless provided “as is”. We do not warrant that content is complete, current or error-free.

Prices, durations, meeting points and operating conditions change without notice. Confirm anything that matters on the operator’s or platform’s own channels before you travel or pay.

Links to GetYourGuide and other third parties are provided for convenience and are affiliate links from which we earn commission.

If you make a booking, the contract is between you, the booking platform and the supplier named on the listing. Their terms, cancellation policy and privacy policy apply, not ours. We are not a party to that contract and have no ability to alter, cancel or refund it.

We do not control third-party sites and accept no responsibility for their content, availability, terms or conduct.

4. Use of the site

You may read, print and share pages for personal, non-commercial use, and quote briefly with attribution and a link.

You may not: republish substantial parts of the site commercially; scrape it systematically for bulk reproduction; use it to train a model where doing so infringes our rights; frame it so as to misrepresent its origin; or misuse it in a way that impairs its availability for others.

5. Intellectual property

Text, layout, design, code and the site logo are ours or licensed to us.

Photographs are used under Creative Commons or public-domain licences and remain the property of their photographers, who are individually credited with the applicable licence on our photo credits page. Reuse of those images is governed by their original licences, not by these terms.

Third-party names and trade marks belong to their owners and are used descriptively.

6. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Sri Lankan law, we exclude liability for any indirect or consequential loss, and for any loss, injury, cost or disappointment arising from:

  • reliance on information published here;
  • the acts or omissions of any tour operator, boat crew, driver or booking platform;
  • any booking made with a third party, whether or not reached through a link on this site;
  • unavailability of the site.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

7. Your own safety

Boat travel on an open estuary carries inherent risk. Check that life jackets are present and correctly sized, use your own judgement about weather and boat condition, follow crew instructions, and travel with appropriate insurance. Nothing on this site is a substitute for your own assessment on the day.

8. Changes

We may change these terms. The version in force is the one published here, with the date shown above.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

10. Contact
